The National Modern Languages SCITT is on a mission to create the next generation of modern foreign languages (MFL) teachers in the UK. They provide the only national teacher training programme focused solely on modern languages, providing trainees with expert tuition and support throughout their one or two-year postgraduate course.
The NML SCITT is run via geographical hubs across England, with partner schools in both the state and independent sectors. Trainees spend most of their time in their geographical hubs, then come together for professional and academic training in Sheffield.
The course is rooted in the reality of life in the classroom, with an above-average number of hours of in-classroom experience. Trainees are supported by mentors in their placements schools but also develop their own support networks with their fellow trainees, who all share a passion for modern languages.
At the end of the course, trainees have a high success rate of getting their first job and are supported throughout the application process by a highly experienced and supportive team.
The Partner Schools listed below fall under their Sheffield and Peak District Hub. Please visit their website to learn more about their partner schools across Abington & Oxfordshire, East Midlands & South Lincs, Humber & North Lincs, Oundle, South East London and South Manchester.
