Teaching assistant Level 3 – Initially in Year 5

The governors of Limpsfield Junior School would like to appoint a permanent level 3 teaching assistant to commence employment as soon as possible. They are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and hardworking teaching assistant to join their dedicated team. For the rest of this academic year the position will be supporting children in year 5. The successful candidate should have current relevant experience of working in schools and be able to support the needs of a range of pupils including those with special educational needs. Our SEND provision is supported through the use of the Birmingham Toolkit and a working knowledge of this is preferable but not essential. The successful candidate will preferably have an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent teaching assistant qualification) or be able to evidence participation in higher education. They will have good literacy and numeracy skills and an ability to motivate children to learn. The role will involve a mix of in class, small group and 1:1 support as led by the needs of the children.
