Teaching Assistant Level 3 – Initially in Year 3

The governors of Limpsfield Junior School would like to appoint a permanent level 3 teaching assistant to commence employment as soon as possible. The successful candidate should have current relevant experience of working in schools. A working knowledge of phonics to support their early reading provision would be beneficial but not essential. They will also be able to support the needs of a range of pupils including those with special educational needs. Their SEND provision is supported through the use of the Birmingham Toolkit and a working knowledge of this is again preferable but not essential. The successful candidate will preferably have an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent teaching assistant qualification) or be able to evidence participation in higher education. They will have good literacy and numeracy skills and an ability to motivate children to learn. The role will involve a mix of in class, small group and 1:1 support as led by the needs of the children.
