Teaching Assistant Level 2 and 3
Abbeywood School are looking to employ a Level 2 and Level 3 Teaching assistant. The successful Postholder(s) will need to be able to build trusting relationships with the learners to help them manage the learning challenges of the day. In order for the pupils to succeed, you will need to be able to think on your feet. It’s about coaxing their confidence both academically and socially – helping them feel accepted and understood. Day to day you will:
- Support the teacher by focusing on pupils’ needs, adapting to scenarios, leaving the teacher free to get on with the job of delivering lessons.
- Set up any equipment or tech requirements needed in the lessons, ready for use.
- Work one-to-one with pupils to ensure that they’re getting the most out of what’s being taught in the classroom.
- Help to keep disruption to a minimum and de-escalate any challenges you do face with your impressively calm, rational approach.
- Work closely with our therapists to make sure every pupil gets all the mental health support they need to be able to enjoy a fulfilling school experience.
Closing date for applications is 25th April 2022, at 11:59pm!
