Teaching Assistant L2 KS1

Athelstan Primary School is a wonderfully vibrant community, where children and adults from many diverse cultures, beliefs and backgrounds blend together to create Team Athelstan. They are an incredible team, who work very hard and who genuinely want to make the difference for all their pupils. They are looking for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, to become part of this team. Required as soon as possible, they wish to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, flexible individual to join Team Athelstan.

The position is to support groups of KS1 children or individuals, inside and outside the classroom. The successful candidate must be able to enthuse, inspire and motivate their children to learn, and be committed to their educational and social development, and to raising their attainment. They should have a proven record of good/outstanding practice.

Candidates are required to have excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team under instruction, as well as have the ability to use their initiative and work independently.

You will also be required to support pupils during the lunch break, taking a lead in developing positive behaviour, and organising and leading play activities.

An NVQ Level 2 qualification or relevant experience is essential. Read, Write, Inc. training is desirable.

The post is for 27.5 hours per week on a 39 week contract. Hours of work to be discussed at interview.
