Teaching Assistant

Bramley Sunnyside Infant School are seeking to appoint a Temporary Teaching Assistant to Support a Child with additional Special Educational Needs as identified through an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP). They are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed teaching assistant to join our friendly and hard-working school team.

The post will involve working as part of a team to support a child’s needs in the classroom, intervention spaces and at lunchtime in order to support the child to access whole class, small group teaching and learning activities, bespoke intervention programmes and positive play activities.

The post will be temporary until 21/07/23 in the first instance.

They are looking for someone who:

  • Has a patient and caring nature
  • Is able to build positive relationships with children, families and staff
  • Has experience of working with children with speech, language and communication needs
  • Can support language development, communication & interaction, including the use of appropriate resources
    and interventions
  • Is able to support physical needs through a plan provided by occupational services
  • Is able to implement consistent daily routines
  • Is able to support children in both a whole class setting and in small groups or 1:1 situations
  • Has high aspirations for, and expectations of, our children
  • Has a relevant teaching assistant qualification at a minimum of level 2
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Is committed to making a positive difference to children’s learning and wellbeing
  • Is willing and able to support children’s personal care needs including toileting and administration of medicines when necessary
  • Would relish the opportunity to work as part of our friendly, highly talented and motivated team
  • Is willing to be involved in the wider life of the school
