Senior Academic Tutor

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to undertake a newly created role at Longley Park Sixth Form College.  This student centred role will focus on identifying and implementing strategies in order to support and encourage students to participate and achieve to their full potential.  The role will involve providing leadership and guidance to the various Academic Tutors within the team, whilst working in collaboration with other Senior Academic Tutor’s in order to innovate and develop a sequential tutorial programme for the new academic year.

Tutorial content creation and delivery to a small number of groups will be expected as well as small group tuition to meet the pastoral and academic needs of the students. Working closely with internal support mechanisms, external agencies as well as parents/carers, the focus will be on improving attendance, retention, achievement and progression for students at the Sixth Form.
