SEND Teaching Assistant Level 3

The children, staff and governors of Bankwood Community Primary School are looking to appoint a dedicated and versatile teaching assistant from January 2022. Work is currently approaching completion to convert the caretaker’s bungalow into an on-site provision for children finding it difficult to access learning full time in a main stream classroom.  The bungalow will provide an alternative working area to the normal classroom environment, supporting some of our most vulnerable students by provision of multi-use rooms to teach a life-skills curriculum. They are looking to appoint an excellent practitioner who, working closely with their existing teaching team, and under direction of the teacher, will deliver a bespoke curriculum for children with significant additional educational needs to inspire them to achieve aspirational outcomes. They are looking to recruit staff who share their commitment to ensuring that all of their children achieve their full potential. As a new venture, this post is currently temporary.

They need a teaching assistant who will:

  • Inspire a love of learning in their children
  • deliver sequenced learning experiences for children with significant additional educational needs
  • work closely with their existing teaching team to ensure a joined-up approach to learning across the two environments
  • model high standards of behaviour
  • encourage and motivate children to reach their full potential
  • work with families and the local community to support children’s learning
  • contribute to their wide range of extra-curricular activities

Closing date for applications is the 14th November 2021!
