SEND Intervention Support Assistant

Saint Pius X Catholic High School is a well-regarded 11-16 school which was rated Good by OFSTED in March 2018. Applications are invited for the position of SEND Intervention Support Assistant at Saint Pius X Catholic High School to work across the age and ability range. They are seeking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic SEND Intervention Support Assistant to work in the Learning Support Department. The successful applicant will support SEND students across the age and ability range, and will be expected to manage a range of learning intervention, both within, and outside of the classroom, ensuring the best outcomes for those students.  It will involve setting up a range of programmes such as Lexia and IDL and activities such as paired reading, monitoring the progress of the students concerned, and recording and reporting on their progress and achievement.  It may also involve preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals and/or groups of students. This work will be under the guidance and supervision of the SENDCo and SEND line manager.

The successful applicants would be joining the SEND team of 8 FTE teaching assistants, part-time SEND administrator and two specialist teachers in the English and maths departments. They must have the ability to work as an effective team member, be well organised and have the ability to communicate with young people and adults in a constructive and effective way.
