Nether Green Junior School are seeking to appoint a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant Level 2 to support the learning at their school.  The successful applicant will work under the direction of the classroom teacher and be expected to assist with the implementation of teaching and learning plans. The successful candidate will be ready to work with all pupils to promote educational, social and emotional development. The ideal applicant will be caring, patient and understanding. The Teaching Assistant must be attentive to the needs of each pupil and be able to identify proper solutions when pupils encounter issues, using a range of techniques and approaches. You should have strong interpersonal skills, as you’ll be collaborating with other teachers and TAs and working with pupils.

There are a range of duties you will be expected to support the teaching team with. These are outlined below:

Your main role will be to assist with classroom instruction and provide support and guidance to all pupils within the class.  This will include supporting pupils with EAL (English as an Additional Language), SEND (Special Educational Needs), as well as pupils from across the ability range – relative to their age.

Second to this, you will be supporting the teaching team in maintaining a supportive, safe and clean classroom environment, helping to organise resources, maintain the overall cleanliness of the learning space throughout the day, and ensuring that materials and apparatus are ready to use in subsequent sessions.

Outside of class time, you will be expected to support in the supervision of pupils during non-classroom time and help to arrange and oversee activities.

You will also be expected to attend teacher meetings and training sessions, appropriate to your role.
