Full Time Cover Supervisor

Governors are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person who is able to meet the Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or has the equivalent qualifications or experience. You must demonstrate excellent numeracy / literacy skills equivalent to NVQ level 2 in English and Maths, with training in the relevant learning strategies e.g. Read, Write, Inc., Big Maths, possess expertise in ICT and some competence around augmented communication strategies eg. Makaton, Rebus, PECS. The successful candidate will have the ability to deal professionally with all of the schools stakeholders, including pupils, visitors, school governors and parents.

You will be confident in supporting and leading classroom learning and be resilient to respond to the day to day needs of the school, you should also have the ability and motivation to organise your own workload and priorities. Working across a range of ages and abilities you should have experience of managing students with challenging behaviour with a range of complex needs including severe learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder, physical disabilities and communication difficulties.

All Teaching Assistants are required to be proficient in Safe Moving and Handling techniques and Team Teach, and training will be provided as necessary.
