DT/Art Technician
The Role
You will ensure all work is carried out to the highest professional standards at all times. The successful person will be working within the Design and Technology Department which is highly regarded by both staff and students in the school and is developing into a modern dynamic academic subject, whist still holding on to its traditional values.
You will ensure work carried out is carried out safely and promptly contributing towards the goals of the department. You will be responsible for pro-actively planning and smoothly delivering the requirements of this post including printing, preparing apparatus for practical’s, overseeing and ensuring health and safety throughout including recording risk assessments, and, responsibility for maintaining classroom displays. You will ensure that stock levels are maintained and recorded, and ensure equipment is in good working order.
You
You will have good communication skills with a knowledge of basic maintenance of machinery and hand tools. As a strong team player, you will be keen to get stuck into projects as required but should be confident to work autonomously too.
You will be a DT Technician already, or ready to step up into the role and take on more responsibility with a keen eye for detail and ability to ensure records are kept up to date. You are likely to have worked with wood working machinery and some metalworking, (including table saws, band saw, wood lathe etc.) and have apparatus preparation skills.
A committed approach to work is essential and it is desirable if you also have the following skills/qualifications in:
- COSHH
- CAD / CAM systems including (laser/vinyl cutters and 3D printers)
- H&S qualification
- First Aid

Salary: GBP £21,382 - £23,739 per year (pro rata)
Location: Mount St Mary's College
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours Per Week: 30 hours per week, term time only 35 weeks per year plus INSET days
