Community Engagement & Family Support Officer

Forge Valley School are seeking to appoint a Community Engagement and Family Support Officer to work within their dedicated Attendance / Pastoral Team.  The postholder will support pupils and parents to help improve levels of attendance, in particular pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. The successful candidate will be required to develop an understanding of the reasons behind poor attendance; implementing strategies to improve attitudes towards the school.

The postholder will work closely with the schools Attendance & Behaviour Manager, assisting in the support of pupils in relation to attendance, as part of their SEMH support. The postholder will also support the completion of MAST/CYT/SEMH Hub referrals and FCAF documents.

The successful applicant must have the emotional intelligence required to build effective and positive relationships with both pupils and parents.  They are looking for a good communicator who will be totally committed to the welfare of our pupils.
