Clerk to Governing Body

RANSF are looking to employ a Clerk to the governing body. The clerk to the governing body will be accountable to the governing body, working effectively with the chair of governors, and with the Executive Head and other governors. The clerk’s main role is:

  • To provide professional clerking services to the governing body (and its committees).
  • To assist with the general administration of the governing body, to ensure its efficient operation.
  • To provide advice on procedural matters.

The ability to work systematically and follow procedures is essential, as are excellent communication and administration skills. Experience in providing accurate minutes of meetings is essential. You are likely to know the role of school governors and be aware of current issues impacting on schools.

Whilst experience in clerking, working with groups and operating computer systems and software programmes including word processing is desirable, this is not essential as training can be made available to suitable candidates.

Although the hours of the post are 3.5 per week this will be worked on an ad hoc basis i.e some weeks will require more than others.  Some evening work during term-time is necessary.

Closing date for applications is 28th April 2022!
