The Governors of Arbourthorne Community Primary School are wishing to appoint a Cleaner in Charge, to be a part of our Premises Team. We are a large inner city school with 447 pupils on role. We have an Integrated Resource Unit with places for 12 children. We are committed to providing the best education for our children and that includes a clean, well maintained school.

The school is seeking to appoint a Cleaner in Charge to work 16 hours per week across 5 days and will work during the school holidays as well as term time.  The actual hours are 2.45 – 6.00pm Monday-Thursday and 3.00-6.00 on Friday.  The post holder will work as part of a team of 5 cleaners but will also lead the team on a day to day basis.  The post holder will be a key holder and work closely with the Building Supervisor in the day to day cleaning of the school.   Duties will include daily cleaning, vacuuming, sanitising, mopping and dusting, plus extra covid19 cleaning and any other appropriate tasks relating to the job description. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas, and undertake regular cleaning audits with the team. We are looking for someone who can use their initiative and take responsibility. Ideally they should be aware of Health and Safety issues related to the role but training will be provided for the successful candidate.
