Behaviour Support Officer
Due to exciting changes to their buildings and the expansion of the successful school (pupils aged 2-19) and including the Resource Centre (10-19) for identified children with a statement / EHCP of SEND and Complex needs, Newman School are looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Officer to join our enthusiastic and talented team. Experience of supporting children with complex SEN is essential. They are dedicated to providing the very best education for all our children and have high expectations for everyone in our school.
You will be:-
- Able to work collaboratively with a variety of professionals and colleagues in order to take the lead in the development and implementation of individual Behaviour Plans, including the writing and distribution of plans
- Taking a lead role in responding to students who are in crisis, providing staff with a change of face and/or alternative strategies for de-escalation
- Sharing best practice approaches with staff when reflecting on incidents
- Taking the lead in the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour strategies
- Promoting good student behaviour and establishing constructive relationships with them and their parents / carers / families
- A strong team player, committed to working with others

Salary: BAND F SP12 – 17, salary pro-rata, actual salary £18,561.60 - £20,492.82 p.a.

Hours Per Week: 35 hours per week, 8.30am – 4pm Monday to Friday, Term Time plus 1 week
