We know how important relationships are in this profession and you will have a strong professional network in your School or Trust however, developing networks across the area can also be very powerful. We seek opportunities to connect colleagues across Sheffield, Rotherham and beyond, so whether your interest is curriculum, pastoral or extra curricular, if there are opportunities to share and develop practice, we’ll bring you and your colleagues together.

Developing your craft

There are lots of local CPD opportunities (accredited and non- accredited), so keep a check on our site, read our weekly newsletter and follow the links below to our CPD and Resource library and take the next step in developing your craft. Whether it is podcasts, articles, the latest education ‘must-reads’ or CPD sessions, we guarantee you will find something that’s perfect for you.

National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)

One of the best ways to develop your pedagogy, practice and leadership skills is to study for an NPQ. The new suite of qualifications is evidence based and focused on developing our teachers and leaders at every stage of their career.

We have joined with our partners at Education Development Trust to bring a local, national and international perspective to the modules which, are delivered through a range of face to face, online and self -study sessions, which compliment your professional life.

The Specialist NPQs

NPQ FOR LEADING BEHAVIOUR AND CULTURE (NPQLBC) – For teachers who have, or aspire to have, responsibilities for leading behaviour and/or supporting pupil wellbeing.

NPQ FOR LEADING TEACHER DEVELOPMENT (NPQLTD) – For teachers who have, or aspire to have, responsibilities for leading the development of other teachers.

NPQ FOR LEADING TEACHING (NPQLT) – For teachers who have, or aspire to have, responsibilities for leading teaching in a subject, year group, key stage, or phase.

The Leadership NPQs

NPQ FOR SENIOR LEADERSHIP (NPQSL) – For school leaders who are, or aspire to be, a senior leader with cross school responsibilities.

NPQ FOR HEADSHIP (NPQH) – For school leaders who are, or aspire to be, a head teacher or head of school with responsibility for leading a school.

Please not there is also an additional support package available for Headteachers who are in their first two years of Headship.

NPQ FOR EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP (NPQEL) -For leaders who are, or aspire to have, an executive head teacher or CEO role with responsibility for leading several schools.
