Teacher Training event

Aimed at anyone who has a passion to inspire young minds, shape the next generation and is wanting to start a career in teaching, The South Yorkshire Teaching Hub is holding an ‘Interested in Teacher Training’ event on Wednesday 13 March from 4.00pm to 6.30pm at the Workstation, Paternoster Row in Sheffield. This free event will allow visitors to gain an insight into the rewarding career of teaching, will provide them all the information they need about how to get into teaching and explore the different teacher training pathways available.

A range of local teacher training providers offering training for secondary, primary and specialist schools will be available at the event to provide more information and answer any questions.

Visitors will have the chance to find out about the different routes into teaching, learn more about placement options, explore career progression opportunities, learn about the application and interview process, discuss funding options, and find out everything they need to know about becoming a teacher within the region.

Current teacher trainees and recently qualified teachers will also be available to answer any questions so visitors can find out first-hand about the training process and discover what life is really like in the classroom.

The event is aimed at anyone who may be looking to get into teaching, whether they are thinking about applying this year or in the future, thinking about their next career move, or would like to find out more about teaching in general.

Katherine Lewis-Ward, Executive Director at South Yorkshire Teaching Hub, said: “We’re bringing our local teacher training providers under one roof, ensuring that we are reaching our goal of supporting, recruiting, training and developing teachers within our region and helping people find the training programme that’s right for them. We look forward to meeting and welcoming visitors at the event.”
